 Consultation and Care

a more intentional first step toward understanding your tmj symptoms

This is not a standard intake process.

This consultation is designed for individuals who are looking for a more focused, one-on-one evaluation of persistent or unresolved TMJ symptoms—especially after other approaches have not provided clear answers.

You will be working directly with Chris Junker from the start.

This is a private, self-pay service with limited availability, and each request is reviewed to determine whether this approach is the right fit.

What This Consultation Is

what this consultation is designed to do:

This initial consultation is not simply a brief screening or standard intake.

It is a focused, clinical conversation and evaluation process designed to:

  • Understand the full history of your symptoms

  • Review what you’ve already tried

  • Identify patterns that may have been overlooked

  • Determine whether a more detailed TMJ-focused approach is appropriate

For many patients, this is the first time their situation is examined in a comprehensive and integrated way.

What This Is Not

what this consultation is not:

To be clear, this is not:

  • A quick evaluation with generalized recommendations

  • A passive or “try a few things and see” approach

  • A high-volume intake process

  • An insurance-based consultation

  • A one-time visit focused only on short-term relief

This is a deliberate, selective process designed to determine whether more focused care is appropriate.

How This Process Works

The consultation process

Step 1 — Submit a Request

You begin by completing a short consultation request form.

This includes:

  • Your symptoms

  • Duration of the issue

  • Previous treatments

  • What you are currently looking for

Each submission is personally reviewed.

Step 2 — Initial Review & Contact

If your situation appears to be a potential fit, you will be contacted directly.

At that point, we may:

  • Clarify your symptoms

  • Discuss your previous experiences

  • Determine whether a full evaluation is appropriate

This step ensures that time is used effectively for both sides.

Step 3 — In-Person Evaluation (If Appropriate)

If we move forward, you will be scheduled for a comprehensive, one-on-one evaluation.

This is where we begin a deeper assessment of:

  • Jaw mechanics

  • Muscle involvement

  • Neck and postural contribution

  • Behavioral and movement patterns

This evaluation is the foundation for everything that follows.

What Ongoing Care Typically Involves

what ongoing care typically involves

If ongoing care is appropriate, treatment is structured as:

  • One-on-one sessions with Chris Junker

  • Individually tailored based on your presentation

  • Adjusted in real time based on your response

Care may involve:

  • Manual therapy and intraoral work (when appropriate)

  • Movement retraining and motor control work

  • Postural and cervical contributions

  • Habit and behavior modification

  • Progressive exercise and coordination training

There are:

  • No assistants

  • No standardized protocols

  • No high-volume scheduling

This allows for a more precise and responsive approach to care.

A Self-Pay, Private Care Model

This practice operates outside of insurance.

This is intentional.

A self-pay model allows for:

  • More time per patient

  • Greater flexibility in treatment

  • A more individualized clinical process

  • Fewer external constraints on how care is delivered

This structure supports the level of attention and specificity required for more complex TMJ cases.

Investment in Care

This is a private, self-pay service designed to allow for a more focused and individualized level of care.

Because all evaluation and treatment is conducted one-on-one and tailored to your specific presentation, the structure of care is not standardized in the way it would be in a traditional clinic setting.

In general, patients invest between $400 – $1500+ depending on the complexity of their condition and the level of care required.

Before moving forward with any treatment, we will clearly review:

  • The findings from your evaluation

  • A recommended plan of care

  • The expected structure and frequency of visits

  • All associated costs

This allows you to make a fully informed decision before committing to care.

This model is intentionally designed for individuals seeking a more focused, personalized, and in-depth approach to TMJ treatment.

Request a Private Consultation

If this approach aligns with what you are looking for, you can submit a consultation request.

Each inquiry is personally reviewed.

If appropriate, we will schedule a brief conversation to determine whether this is the right next step for you.

There is no obligation—this is simply a way to ensure alignment before moving forward.
